First Mitchell Schematic - Parts List - 1946View the finest collection of Mitchell reel schematics for each Mitchell model reel made between 1946 and 1989. You will find numerous Mitchell schematics on most all Mitchell models. This was done for many reasons but primarily due to all the improvements Mitchell made through out each reels production dates. From 1946 to 1968 old redundant part numbers were used consisting of from 1 to 4 digits on each model. This required you to give the part number and the reel Model name and number when ordering parts since some of these old parts number were used on different parts for different reels.

In 1967 Mitchell started converting these old part numbers to 6 digits corresponding directly to the exact part for the exact reel making this process much easier. By 1969 all parts had been converted except for those we call Obsolete, or not made in 1969 which translates to very rare parts! For more information on Mitchell models made between 1939 and 1989, see our Mitchell Models Page or, to help determine what year your Mitchell reel was made by serial numbers, see our Mitchell Fishing Reel Dating Guide.
