Mitchell 306 combi cross wind

Post by toulady6 »

Hello mates,

Yesterday I got this Albatros Mitchell 306 Combi with booklet and warranty card.
Date of purchase oktober 15 1963 .
The previous owner told me that this reel was only used a few times and was put in storage for a long time.
When I opened it up to clean I was surprised to see a cross wind instead of a planamatic ..
I,m 99% sure that it,s a original factory made 306 cross-wind .
But.. Albatros never ordered them with a CW ..
I think i,m lucky ..

That is a vey cool reel Dries. It’s beautiful and unusual. I’ve never seen a CW 306. Congratulations! What did Mitchell mean by Combi? Is that another word for Intermediate?

Hi Sandman,

The 306 was advertised as a heavy fresh water and a light saltwater reel so a combination reel
I think they cut it short to Combi .

best regards

Dries
