305 ARCA

Post by Simone Baschirotto »

The time it took to find it leads me to think it is not common.
This type of paper adhesive is extremely delicate, impossible to remove and is very easily damaged.
The reel is in excellent condition, has never been disassembled and still has the original aged grease in every part. After following hundreds of ads in Belgium, Ronny arrived with the 305 ARCA I was looking for and for that I thank him very much.
A nice addition to my small collection

Based on serial numbers, I believe these reels were among the first distributed in Belgium under the ARCA name and preceded the engraved ARCA Mitchells by about 1 year. I'm pretty sure that these stickers were used around 1960 and I do know that they are not common. I'm not sure what the small letters on the corners of the sticker mean?? The engraved ARCA Mitchell 305 is one of the few CAP/Mitchell 304/305's that I'm still searching for.

Kind Regards,
Chris

Ciao Amico Chris!interesting your reference to those little letters in the corners.
Each letter is followed by a period and means a word. I think we can understand this easily by asking someone in Belgium.
do you have a 305 with Arca sticker in your incredible Chris collection? Personally I had some difficulties finding it.
If there is an engraved 305 we find it, I'm also trying to buy the second blue 34 I know.
Your collection of round reels is perhaps the best I've seen along with the one I assume Christian has. I have seen beautiful reels but the most interesting thing is the information you both recently gave to "Mitchell reel museum".
Please both continue and I hope Wallace will make cards for each version, this makes it easier to make your help available to all collectors in the future.

Hi Kim, they are 2 different versions. 314 and 315 also have a different handle than 304 and 305.😉
