300 half bail
300 half bail
Okay I'm not a 300 guy. But a friend found this 1/2 bail, and say's it's smooth. It's marked as a 1953 I doubt their is a serial # with all the paint off the foot. Not having a half bail, for $12.00 I said hello yeah I'll take it. So now I'll let you guy's tell me what's RIGHT and WRONG with it form photos.

don309,
My opinion, good $12 buy. I think may be earlier than 1953. SN might be on the back of the case.

My friend is the way what a three-week trip. I won't have the reel in my hands for a while. When you stay on the back of the case, you mean the opposite side of the handle right?

Re: 300 half bail
What a nice find and deal!! Sometime in 1951 3rd Version Half Bail production stopped. Then the initiation of newly patented Full Bail reels started the 4th Version. So the 1953 just slight error from your seller. From 1946-49 3rd Versions with no serial numbers just various stamps on the foot. Then sometime later 1949 they began stamping serial numbers on the foot. A plus 5 digits. Not long after it moved forever to the housing. Sweeeeeet!
