Hello. I was trying to figure out if all 410 reels have the bumper bails, I have 3 of these reels and 2 of them have the regular bails on them. Just trying to figure out if the bumper was later in its run or if someone changed them thanks Syd

I'm guessing you don't mean autobails, but the small shock pads?

I have a midnight blue 410 from around 1975, and a lighter blue 410 from around 1978/9, and both have standard bails (no 'shock absorber' bumper). My original Mitchell 410, which I bought new (probably 1982..ish), also had a standard non-bumper bail (I should mention that mine were all bought in fhe UK).

I have, however, seen bumpers on some 410 bails; for different markets maybe?

There are other reels that use the bail bumper. A version of the 306 comes to mind. Easy to tell because of the small hole in the bail wire where the bail meets the stop. I think also the 402 reel as well.

Syd,
The 410 red rubber bumper bails were the original bail design. The 410 red bumper bail design went away and was replaced with a roller line guide design minus the rubber bumper in 1972.
Kind Regards,
Bill
