I recently purchased a garcia mitchell 486 reel I am havingf trouble dating it fron the serial # on the foot. The number is 075255, can someone help me?

IT's been a couple of days since you posted this question, and sorry to say none of the mates have been able to give you and answer.
As far as I know, only the models 300 bodied and 308s have had word done to help with dating.

What little I know is that they made 154,239 between 1968 and 1986.

Ted is right but I believe you have another number or 2 in front of the zero. Maybe a letter. According to Dennis Roberts Value Guide letters were 1st used for serial numbers around 1971 through 1990. Not counting the early 300 series. So, if your reel doesn't have a letter, it would be safe to say that your reel is between 1968-1970. You still have a missing number or 2 that could be very lightly stamped.........
