Hello, I checked Dennis Roberts Mitchell Value Guide and found out this. In 1979 Mitchell did make 10 custom order 906 with MPU's. That's the good news. The bad news is yours has a different MPU that is in his picture. Your MPU looks like it came off a salt water reel for the conversion. I can't tell from your picture if yours is Mitchell 906 or Garcia Mitchell 906. Dennis's is Garcia Mitchell 906. Hope this helps...........

Thanks Kim!
If there are no takers. I'm just going to see if I can use some of the parts, for the 302. I hate to see any Mitchell go to the scrap yard.

Thanks for your opinions. It is a Mitchell 906. The strange thing for me is to see that the pan where the pickup supports are anchored does not appear to be cutted.

Nice pictures. Could you get a little closer to rotor for each side. If it wasn't cut then there's a possibility that maybe a factory worker custom fitted the reel for themselves. It was known to happen from time to time. Would be why the paint matches the rotor perfectly.

PS- I compared it to my Mitchell 906 bronze which is basically the same as yours but different color.

Thanks for your messages. Here you are some more pictures. I also have atached an inside picture where you can see a kind of paste to perform rotor compensation. Otherwise, the handle is a little bit smaller than another 906 I have.
