Will this fit a 304 CAP?
Since both 304 and 314 are basically the same ( Shaft and Spool are differant) but remainder of parts are identical.
As you know they can be converted by changing the axle shaft.
304 spools are easy to find , but 314 is like Hens Teeth.
I can not find a 304 CAP schematic with part numbers.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Part 81165
I don't know much about those reels. There are people here with that knowledge. Did do a search and in the different seller's write-up they mentioned 314 & 315 planamatic ring. Maybe contact a Mitchell parts seller and ask.

If you can wait until early November when I get back to Denver (I am fishing in Ontario) I will be happy to take a 314 and a 304 CAP apart and see if the part is interchangeable. I have both of these reels and they are not with me on this trip.

Mr Reynolds,
Where in Ontario are you fishing?
I come from the very southwest, near Sarnia.
Just curious.

I have been up to the Nottawasaga five times. There are a lot salmon which were very rare forty years ago. The water is low and warm and the rainbows are holding back their run up the river. I may go to the Saugeen for a bit.

I know the Nottawasaga, from my military time on courses at Base Borden, but never fished it. A tributary, the, Pine River, runs through the base. It also had a good run of rainbow. I haven’t been in the area for a number of years.
