301 Info

Post by Schrack »

Received my box of reels today, one Mitchell301, needs bail spring, hard to turn.
Will check it out after Shift this evening.
Is their anything I might Need to know.
From schematics I see all different parts.
Bail spring is compatible to 304.
Actually Reel is not in bad exterior shape.
Assume the binding is old like ancient grease caked inside.
Kinda excited about bring this one back to life.
Has a 5 digit Ser. #
Any advice will be greatly appreciated on this one.

Thank You Wallace, Happy Thanksgiving!
Just finished the 301, looks like it is very early, had plastic transfer gear, which I replaced.
Inside was in excellent shape.
Ser. # 28463
The 300 was also earley, Ser. # 825283, which would be a late 55, has yellow sticker on case, ( what is left of one)
The other two are parts reels.
One of them has the high speed handle, will check it out after shift tonight.
The 301 and Early 300 both were easy to bring back to life. After adjusting bail wires bail snaps like a upset alligator.
I enjoy bringing them back to life¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
