Mitchell Reel Forum

Picked up a Mitchell 410 at a yard sale for $10.00 seems to work fine but naturally the bale bumper is shot ,I heard this can affect the operation,how so? It seems to work fine ,I have yet to use it ,it came with a pole - I have not id’d the pole but the reel exterior cleaned up nice I have not looked inside but typically looks like a bit dirty not real bad,the same as most of my 300’s came ,this makes 8 or maybe nine I have now!

Most of the 410 reels I see pictured have the “torpedo” handle mine has the one like a 300 is this normal or was it changed at some point?
