Mitchell 204S
Mitchell 204S
Trying to find out when this 204S was produced, all I come up with is 1979.

Re: Mitchell 204S
Hello Don,
Your 204S was distributed by Browning and was the last of the 204's in 1981 - 1982, Maybe 83. Nice reel and hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
Chris

Re: Mitchell 204S
Hi Don,
I like the finish on this reel, it looks almost like a powder coat finish, which is tres durable. Is the body aluminum?
Best wishes and lots of fishes
Glen
I still like your dog

Re: Mitchell 204S
Some time ago I weighed this reel.
Perhaps it is the lightest Mitchell. 156 grams - 5.50 OZ

I did think it felt lighter.

Re: Mitchell 204S
Hi,
That weight would lead me to suspect that this reel has a composite body.

Re: Mitchell 204S
the whole body is made of aluminum! rotor, coil and side plate are made of plastic composite. the crank is a classic solid aluminum crank.

Re: Mitchell 204S
Update Ted: I used the 204S today, and caught 10 trout on it. It handled nice & was smooth, and I did notice the weight while fishing it. But I stick with the 308 & 408. I'll bring it out now and then.
So anyway I went trout fishing today, with my best bud. I caught 22, my friend 25. All were nice fish, the picture is of my 1st fish of the day about 20" rainbow. He and I go every year when they do the early delayed harvest stocking, seems the fish a always real nice fish.
