Will it fit on a 304?
If not what is the differance?

Schrack,
The 340 handle, for the 340 Main Gear(Part# 81179) will not fit on a 304 Main Gear, (Part# 81134) as the threaded shaft of the main gear is larger on the 340. I'm taking for granted that you are talking about the handle and not just the handle knob - the knobs are interchangeable.
