Bache Brown first acquired Luxors from his friend in France and distributed them to clients in the US. These French produced reels were all black in color. I put together a new in box collection of these reels. there was the 3000 reels and the 3800 reels to replace the 300 and 308 Mitchells. I have a nice collection of the first Luxor reels and their boxes produced by Bache Brown in the USA. Normally they were made in France, but the war had started so Bache, who was an early promoter of the spinning method in the US, produced these reels.
