Bail bumpers
Does anyone know where I can purchase a red bail bumper to fit the early Blue Mitchell 400/ 401 special Thank you all

By now you know that those red bumpers are hard to find. In the past I have had reels where their bumpers were missing and I tried something that might help you. I'm not 100% sure that I've done this on a 400, but I believe that I have.
I have a local hardware store that sells items that the big box stores don't usually carry, and they have very small "O" rings that I have used by sliding one over the metal part of the bail where the bumper would be inserted. I wish I could remember the size it took but it was a while ago.
Anyway, when I did it, it worked.
It's worth a try if you can't find the real thing.
