Hello
I am new to this forum and I have a question. I have a 308 I need some parts for, a #2 bail screw and a anti-reverse dog/pawl spring. When I looked up the serial # it showed 1955. The model list doesn't show a 308 until 1959, not sure what part #,s I need. Thanks for any and all help. Larry

Clarks395,
The dating chart at the top of the forum doesn't apply to the 308s.
It for the 300 family of reels.
I have been known to misread the 308 chart, but it looks like your reel was produced in 1970. Though, I do use the 308 reel, I've not gotten into them like some other mates, but I think your a/r spring would be 81272 and the screw would be 81292.

Clarks395 I have a small amount of Mitchell parts that I picked up a while back. Let me check my stash, and I'll get to you via PM (Private Mail). It might be a day of so.

Regards,
Ted Lanham

Thanks for the reply. Haven't seen any other date chart, are there other charts for different models? If so where are they located? I found the spring I thought I lost, was stuck in my cleaning brush. Still need the #2 bail screw, it was missing when I got the reel. Thanks Larry.

clarks359,
Those little a/r springs are easy to lose.
Here's a link to a string a while ago.

Just scroll down the messages and you'll find the ultra lite chart. I wish I could remember the mate that put the time into putting it together, but I can't.
He did the mates a big favor by creating it. Many Thanks To him.
If you want me to still look for the bail screw, let me know.

Regards,
Ted Lanham

I too have a question on the 308, my serial number as far as I can tell is 249309, so would I add up the total number built each year ( on the 308 chart)until I get into the range of my numbers?
