Hello guys new to this forum but have always liked to collect older Garcia Conolon Rods and for the first time i picked up a pre-Garcia, NARMCO rod at a garage sale for just $1. I have researched this rod pretty throughly and cnnot begin to find any information on it and was hoping somewhere he could help. I would like to know if anyone knows the approximate age of this rod and its value thinking sometime around 1945-1950 but not postive. What i can get off of it is "NARMCO Conolon Live Fiber AIRFLITE 6307-66R and looks to me as though it is a 2 piece 6'6" 0WT fly rod but looks like it could be used as a ultralight spinning rod as well might have been a combo type rod like the old wonderods that Shakespeare used to make. It would not let me post pics so ust copy and paste the links below and they will open as pictures, thanks!!!

First off WELCOME to this site. Lots of good people and advice. Conolon - NARMCO is from the 50's. Many types and styles of rods were made over the years. I have some earlier catalogs of rods made in the year it was printed. Will do some searching, WILL TAKE TIME, and get back here with results. If you want to post pictures you must resize them to around 700 megapixels. If from a cell phone you can get an app that resizes picture and download picture from phone. Very easy, even I was able to do it. Good Luck, a very nice pole to start with. Sock or tube by any chance???

I have two spinning rods that are 7'6" and 2-piece and identical, except one of them has a decal just above the handle of the old-style loopy 'M' 'Mitchell' and the model #353 LM ('Long Model') (if I recall correctly... the rods are at our lake house, and I am NOT). They are beige in color with black thread windings and black metal ferrels. I have not been able to find any information about these rods. They appear to be some of the oldest Fiberglas rods that I have ever seen. Not stiff at all... very wispy! And, very well-made. I suspect they were probably quite expensive when first made and sold, and I am guessing that would have been in late 40s or early 50s. Can anybody give me any information on these rods?
