Hello, I am new to this forum and have a question? Does the Museum have an Ebay store or site? Maybe a list of sellers that donate proceeds to the Museum?

Greetings clarks359,
Welcome to the Mitchell Reel Museum. :sBo_bouncing2:
It is very thoughtful of you to ask this question.
At the top of the forum page there is a link "Click Here to Find Vintage Mitchell Reels For Sale Worldwide". Support for the Museum will result with any reel sold via this venue.
Also, for a direct donation, you could use this link
http://www.rebrand.ly/donatec42c.com. You can find this link at the "Old Movies On Garcia, Mitchell, Abu, and Conolon" link found further down the Forum that was created by Wallace himself.

Regards,
Ted Lanham

Ted,
Thanks for the reply. I used that link and went to the Ebay USA link. With the different sellers listed I wasnt sure if they were associated with the museum. I have a 308 I need a couple of parts for and will use that link. Thanks
Larry

Larry,
Most parts we find on ebay. Very hard to find parts sometime are sold swapped or given my members. Have fun here, I know I do!

May your lines always be tight, Don

Don,
I keep an eye on Ebay for parts and reels. I need a #2 bail screw and a anti-reverse dog/pawl spring. I used the schematics page and got the part #'s, now its time to search. I am sure I will need more parts for other models, but I lost those 2 parts and want to put them back. Thanks
Larry

Mates,

With respect to the Mates that have given wonderfully supportive replies to Larry (clarks359), I observe one of his questions has not been given an explicit answer:
Quote:

Although based on what Ted has written about MRM receiving some form of commission from ebay for linking to it, the short answer is no the sellers are not affiliated with MRM (please correct/modify me if otherwise), unless it's stated in the seller's listing (which I've yet to observe). However, the MRM posts in the category "Mitchell for Sale or Wanted" would require MRM membership (which does not mean any proceeds would go to MRM - again, unless stated).

Warm regards,
John

John,
Thanks for your reply. The fact that the museum wasn't listed had me confused. If the museum gets any compensation from these sites that's good, still need parts. Will have to use the link Ted supplied and donate directly when funds permit. I have run into another problem with the 308, I looked up the serial # to make sure of the year it was produced. The serial # is 954408 which dates to 1955 if I read the guide right. The model listing says they didn't make a 308 until 1959. I used the 68 & newer schematic for the part #s. The older schematic has 2 digit #s, don't know how to convert them to newer #s. Will attach pictures once I figure that out.

Larry,

Just a thought from me. It might help you get answers faster if you posted your 308 questions/images in the Mitchell Reel Talk or Mitchell Service Talk sections including 308 in the subject line. That way 308 aficionados would be more likely to notice.

John

Thanks for that suggestion. I will post in a different section and see what happens. Larry
