Hello.Im new on this forum and I found mitchell 300 reel on my upstairs. I cant find any serial numbers or production year , i see just "Mitchell 300" and "made in france" written on the top. Can you estimate year of production ? THX :)

Hello dzikson88,First let me say welcome to the Mitchell Reel Museum. I'm fairly sure your reel is newer than 53-54, the reason I say that is because the bail trip lever had a sawtooth end up until the 5th and I believe some of the 6th version reels, and looking at yours I see it's smooth , although it could have been changed for some reason or other. I'm sure if you search some of the sections of the museum you can come up with an approximate year, which I think will be th early 60s ,l could be wrong it wouldn't be the first time.
