I have a Mitchell Captain 602AP fishing reel that was given to me by a friend. It was made in France. Can you tell me when it was made and anything else about this reel. What is the collector value? Do you have a user's manual or instruction sheet or a copy of the same that you could send to me? The reel is in like new condition and probably hasn't been used in the last 20 years. Anything you have regarding this item would be appreciated. Thank You, John Soper

Hello John,

See our Mitchell Museum Advertisements Gallery>> 600 Series and

our 600 Series Schematics Gallery that should help you.

As far as owner's manuals, they are rarer than the reel itself.

Anyone care to post an owner's manual, please do so.

Regards,
Wallace

I now have the original box, information sheet and extra rod clamp in its original cellophane pouch that came with my Mitchell Captain 602AP trolling reel. I can't locate the serial number but I hope you can give me an approximate year of manufacture (Made in France) and approximate value before the present recession hit (as I don't plan on selling it now). Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Soapy (aka John Doe)

Hi Soapy, welcome to Mitchell mates!

I posted that for you (as you know) under the alias John Doe. I use this name to post a few question asked directly of me. Thank you for joining!

Besides what I gave you in the links, I can offer no more than what you can see there. The only question is value, one that we hardly ever answer because we can't. There are no value charts or handbooks I know of on these, sorry. I will say they were mass produced and sold worldwide therefor making them fairly common and not highly collectible.

If anyone cares to give a price range, go for it. The last time I did I got blasted! One man's junk is another man's treasure, so they say Image

Best Regards,
Wallace
