Hello to all,

I thought I would share a 2nd Made in Japan reel that I had recently serviced for a tackle dealer that sells on EBAY. This is an interesting reel for a couple of reasons. Similar spool to the Fishmaster reel, handle is a combination of our traditional early spring loaded and our threaded tighten down end. This is done by loosening a screw then using the spring to release and turn over the handle. Again no lube port screw and the housing is almost identical to the fishmaster except for now we have a more closely copied internal parts like the 300. One weird difference the spool shaft sled is made of aluminum and all geared parts except for the pinion (brass) are a heavy white metal. Below are a couple photos.

Cheers! Regards, Scott

Hi CJ,

It was actually an interesting reel to work on. The reel was made in Japan in the early 60's.

Scott, Thanks for posting info on the Lafayette. I hadn't seen one either. Looks like they made a Salt Water size reel also. This is the only part I have. :sCo_uhm:
