Need help

Post by Ericspry »

Hey guys my name is eric. Im new to the forum. I have an old mitchell i believe to be a 301 that i received from my father. Im currently in the process of repairing this reel. The problem i have is i dont know where the sn is on this reel. Everywhere i researched states to look on the foot but there is nothing stamped on it. Just wanted to know to see if im gathering the right parts for the repairs.

Ericspry,
:text-welcomeconfetti: to the Mitchell Reel Museum.
The older Mitchell 300s, for a period, placed the serial number on the back of the reel body, on the opposite side from the handle near the top edge.
There was also a time during the very early half-bail era where there were no serial numbers.
Chances are that if there isn't a SN on either the reel foot, or the back of the body that the body is a repair part. Repair 300 body's didn't come with serial numbers.

Ted Lanham
