Hi guys,

I am wondering if any members have a tip as regards the best thing to use to get the best finish possible on the white side plates of my 600's ?

Regards.

Hi Rob,

Welcome to the Group :sSig_welcome4:

I unfortunately don't collect the 600 series so probably can't be much help and most of the Mates are spinning reel enthusiasts/collectors. I do know that over a period of time the side plates of the Mitchell 600s had a tendency to yellow and/or crack at stress points. There are a number of sellers on eBay that specialize in saltwater reels and have many Mitchell 600 series NOS (new old stock) parts at reasonable prices. Also check out eBay France, UK and Germany. You may pay more for shipping but the selection of parts may be more of what your looking for if you cant refinish the originals. Good luck with the restoration of your Mitchell 600s.

Regards,
Chris
