Sorry if this is a real newbie request, but can someone explain or post a picture of how the cam spring and anti reverse dog and spring are arrange on the cover plate of a 305.

My 305 is stamped 0721173.

Hello totalnoob,

Welcome to the Group :sSig_welcome2:
No request is ever a problem here and all of the Mates are happy to help. Below are photos of one of my 305s which should put you on the right track.

The easiest way I've found to reassemble the A/R dog is to place the a/r spring in position. Put the dog over the spring with the spring "prong" through the small hole on the dog and rotate the dog clockwise and up until it secures on the face plate. A little coating of grease on the face plate where the spring rests will help to hold it in place and prevent corrosion.

Hope this helps and enjoy the Mitchell Museum - we're always here to help.

Regards,
Chris

Thank you so much for this. I don't think I'd have been able to reassemble that part without your help.
