Dear Sir,

While re-asseblying my reel, a certain part I tried to slide back on was problematic. Because its probably brass stuff- it just would not budge no matter how I tried. Finally, it brokew into two.
1. Can the reel operate without this part?.
2. Will my cog-wheel remain stable -minus this part.
3. Can I improvise with a suitable alternative.
Please find attach a photo of the broken part- above the adjacent slot it was meant to occupy.

regards,
K.Lee

Greetings lee,
For myself, I know little about the 810 series of reels, but if I had any reel where there was a part either damaged, or lost I'd try to find a replacement.
There are several sellers of Mitchell reel parts found on ebay and on the internet.
You can contact those sellers about your particular part.
Regards,
Ted Lanham
