Post subject:  440a match bail arm reassembly

hi there!
I'm a new member who has recently acquired 2 440A Match reels, both good on the outside but poor inner workings and bail arm function. One has Match in gold lettering and is a later model I believe. The 'gold' Match has part of the bail arm screw assembly sheared off which is a problem but my main question is how to reassemble the bail arms as I have taken them off to service/compare? Have watched the video on the 300 but this is a different assembly. A step by step guide would be great if anyone out there has one! Many thanks in anticipation.

Getting to know the 330/440 reels better is on my "To Do" list...maybe I can find something though.

330/440/440 Match parts kit...mechanism parts same on 440A, but bail wire and arm would be different part numbers on 440A.

The easiest way for me is to install the articulated part first. Then install the bail arm first on the non articulated side. Once attached, then bring the bail arm up to the articulated section and place the screw through the line guide and its receptacle portion on the articulated part. Tighten down on the screw and you are in business. I find it practically impossible to install the entire assembled bail as a complete entity - easy to do some damage here. Assembling in 3 steps works well for me. Good luck.
