I did a search and found the threads that talked about installing a new bushing, AR dog, and gear in old 300's to give them silent A/R, but the pics won't load for me. Can anyone point me to another source for those pics? Thanks.

You should not have to do any mods to make the silent A/R work in the older reels. You have to use all three parts from the Silent A/R kit.
#83442 (new thinner transfer gear) ,83443(A/R) and 83446(bushing). I have done a number of reels and all have worked very well.
See schematics from the late 80's.
I was able to buy the parts from a local repair shop.
Also have bought trashed 300A, for parts.

Can the "Silent AR " treatment be applied to a 410.
If so, can someone ID the parts list?

Seatroller,
Do you mean that these parts are the same ones in the 300A?
I know for sure that is silent A/R.
Thanks

Help! Where can we find these parts?
Found #83442 and 83443 on-line but no 83446.

Sorry it took so long to get back on this.

Parts are hard to come by.
The shop where I used to get the kits is out of stock.

300A after 1982 had the silent anti reverse as an option.
The later 300 Taiwan versions had the silent anti reverse.
I found it easier to buy parts reels at flea markets etc, to upgrade reels to fish with.

Check out kennyskidog on eBay. He is located in BOLTON Ont. Canada. His listing often indicates French River on my Mind for location. He has lots of all these parts. Good luck.

By the way - these parts do not work with 400 series reels as with the 410. I have tried but to no avail.
