Hi Mates,
Has anyone used the Penn Ht100 drag washers on the 300 or 308 reels?
I read somewhere that the ht100 size 006X060 would work.
Any input appreciated.
Thanks,
Vic

Hi Vic,

Another option would be to make your own. You can buy sheets of teflon from McMaster-Carr
then just trace an original and then cut them out? What you think? Hope yu are well!

Yes I have, they give you much more drag pressure
If you grease them with a drag grease, they will also be smooth as silk
Warning! ONLY USE A TEFLON BASED DRAG GREASE LIKE CAL'S FOR THE DRAG!

The 6-60 size is fine for the larger surface ones, but if you have spools with the inset that the fiber washer sets in, you need to use 6-155 instead

These both have essentially the same ID & Thickness the difference is the OD
6-60 = 0.8047"
6-155 = 0.7055"

You should order both

You can also add one on spindle underneath for even more drag pressure

I will include this link for a NEW tutorial I just did on reels, just scroll towards the end and you will see me greasing a regular fiber washer in it

If you need it, I could work up a tutorial for you on doing carbon fiber drag on Mitchell 300's if you need?

Vic:
You are very welcome my friend!
If you need anything else, feel free to message me

Did you get both kinds?
If not I can send you a couple of each in mail with some Cal's grease?

Regards, Reid

What’s the benefits of the carbon drag washers?

I’ve read that it makes the drag overall smoother. But does it add strength/stronger pressure to the drag?

I have 301s
