Ok, couldn't resist one more day...the weather was fantastic, over 70 degrees, felt like 80 on the lake...you'll notice most of the snow is gone from two weeks ago...again, I was the only one fishing...I did see a few others who just hiked in...Tried to get a few more Mitchell photos this time...The fenwick FF605 paired with a FRONCE reel is an amazing combo for chunky Rainbows....all fish swam away.

First fish of the day:

17" and fat...I would say ready to spawn, but I thought Rainbows did this in the Spring...they feed well in this lake..

Note the A/R lever in "off" position...I use back-reeling as my drag system after the initial strike. I use my little finger to stop the head from rotating backwards (prevent backlash) when my other hand is unavailable...

FRONCE working hard again...

Hello CDSAND7640, How many more times are you going to tell us this fish tail about being your last outing LOL ? Nice catch , I think your starting to make some of us a little envious. Reminds me of when I used to go to Canada ,was always nice and peaceful on the lake ,especially in the morning. Can't wait to see about your next last outing. Tight lines John in Pa.

Hi John, I hope to tell you a few more times about my last outing(s) of the year, but I fear I already have....the weather is back to normal for this time of year...47 and raining in the low lands, snowing in the mountains...

Randy, Oregon has some wonderful fishing, but Idaho is nothing to shake a stick at...

I've not considered ice fishing...not sure I can snowshoe up hill for four miles...but tempting...
