 Post subject: Kokanee on FRONCE reels

Mates, on vacation in central Oregon. Caught about 50 of these yesterday. They are Kokanee Trout (landlocked Sockeye Salmon) that were stocked in a reservoir years ago and naturally reproduce in the rivers that feed the reservoir. They are not large, but are fantastic eating (think bright orange/red meat) and on light gear the kids had a lot of fun...we all used FRONCE 308s....mine is "pimped out" with 408 gears and handle.

Sandman, very nice catch. Looks like a fish that would give a vintage mitchell reel a good fight. Thanks for posting the pic. Best regards, Dennis2149

Thanks guys, while these little Kokes are great fighters, the Mitchell UL can handle them with ease...they sure are fun on a vintage UL fly rod...
