Thanks to the great seller on ebay I resolved my troubles with my 300A,which I gave as birthday present to my boy.
An old fisherman saw us fishing and after half an hour he gave me a Mitchell 320 for my boy,because as per his words : it is more suitable for him.
It was left in a cellar for 30 + years,it was dirty,squeaking ,I had trobles cleaning it,and all what was working properly was the bail.
I took it apart gave it good clean and Penn grease,
everything was like new again and working,but I couldnt get the bail spring in.
It deformed during my unsuccesfull attempts,because whenever I try to put it in,part of it comes out.
There are two slots for the flat end(the pointing end goes into hole in bail), in which one do I put it,how do I put it,and how do I reshape it?

I had a similar problem with a 324, and 3 hours later. :sCh_fisherman:

If you search the service talk for the word headache I think you will find your answer. With the spool end up, try the 2 o'clock position. I found it easier to put the bail spring and bail on the head prior to putting the head on the housing. This would be a good time to have the boy help, never too early to learn repair. It really feels like you need 3 hands. And it all felt backwards. Enjoy, hope I helped.
