Noodle,
I'm sure most everyone has been disappointed with a purchase.
It pays to not make any assumptions.

Noodle,
Other than most of the bail being missing, and not having a spool, am I missing anything?

Noodle,
I can't tell about the baffle plate in the picture, but I am getting a bit long in the tooth. Is it grease, or is the end of the axle made of brass? Just curious.

I'm no spring chicken either Ted. Looking at the picture of the bail arm it appears that it is an A series reel. If I remember correctly,
some of the A series reels had a brass axle, but I think it was just the reels produced in Taiwan.
I think the Taiwan reels also had a black hex nut but then again my memory ain't what it used to be :blush

I don't buy the Taiwan reels but got one in a box of reels I bought so it gave me a chance to compare to the originals.

It's hard to tell but it almost looks like there is some sand mixed in with the grease
