Welcome... This is an incredible forum with endless information on just about everything pertaining to Mitchell reels.
If you scroll down to the Articles sub forum and click on it, the fifth thread down is a great article on the various spools and it includes charts that should help you out.

Thanks Bill. The article on spools is great. I thought I had a decent
grasp of the different spools, until I looked at that article.
It didn't take long to figure out that I was wrong :sHa_biggrin:

I know I saw the sub form earlier but can't find it either. Do a search for keywords "spool capacity" and use "Wallace Carney" for the author. You should find exactly what you need.

What Mike wrote was sub forum not form.

Its easy to find. :sHa_rollingsmilie:
1. Go to the page called Board Index.
2. Once there, you will see a large table with the title: Welcome to Mitchell Mates, in white letters, directly above the table.
3. The second column of the table is titled Forum. Scroll down that column until you see the gold colored word Articles.
4. Click on the word Articles.
5. This opens up a new page and a new table. The first column is labeled Topics.
6. Scroll down the first column until you see the topic called: Old Mitchell Spool Capacity Charts and click on it.
7. You can read various posts with information on spool capacities. (NOTE: YOU MUST BE LOGGED IN TO SEE ALL OF THE CONTENT ON THE PAGES.)

I suggest, once you have finished reading about Spool Capacities that you go back and read all of the Topics under Articles, there is some great information there and much of it from Wallace Carney himself. :sFun_bananacolors:

Hope this helps,
Kind Regards,

I have a lot of spools have noticed they are different sizes, I don"t mean just large and small, but some are a little bigger not fitting on the early models you can see the release bottom in the middle are smaller and less pronounced. Is this just me or actual fact? I only have 6 extra that fit 56 and below. Other will not lock into place. Wow not only spelling check but correct verbage!!!
