I recently received the newest addition to my Otomatic series family, and thought I would share a few pictures...
It is an E prefix serial number Garcia Mitchell Match that was born in 1975. It's not perfect, it does have a few small flaws but is still in nice condition and thankfully it still has the original Match reel extra shallow spool with the red chenille around the bottom...
I apologize for the pictures. It's been a long time since I posted any pictures online, and I'm not much of a photographer...

Thanks Jeremy. I was very happy when it arrived. It's even nicer than I was expecting. The only bad thing about it was that it looks just like it did when it arrived, so I didn't get to do my usual cleaning off of 40 years of dirt and grime, but I guess that's not really a bad thing, because I'm sure there will be plenty more of those in the future. Actually around the middle of next week LOL....

Thanks Kim. It is getting hard to find them here in the States,
and it seems like most of them are a little rough. It does make
it a quest finding them though, and that's part of the fun.

Thank you. One thing about it, as hard as it is to find them, I don't have to worry about going crazy and ending up with a bunch of them, which is good because I don't always have a lot of self control.

Mike 408,
I was going back over some posts I had missed and came across yours. Quite an interesting reel. :sHa_okay: Now is this the one that did not have a Model number on it? Ah yes, now I see it is. 8o I especially appreciate you showing the perfect Ultra Small Capacity spool which is really cool.

Thanks for posting - so many things to learn about Mitchell.
Kind Regards,
Bill :tup

Hi Bill,

Thanks, and you're welcome. The extra shallow Match spools definitely aren't something you see all the time, and sadly many of the reels I have looked at no longer had the correct spool with them. I have a lot to learn about Mitchell reels, but fortunately there are folks on here that have tremendous knowledge about them, and are willing to help. Even no longer than I have been a member here, I have learned an incredible amount.

Take care
Mike
