Ive used factory cork and plastic for other brands and they did the job. easier/cheaper then spooling backer so i liked it. this was for fresh water reels.

Hi Balvar24, Since there's no photo in your post I'm guessing that your asking about spool arbors. I would say that any of the Mates that use a mitchell to fish with, if they only have a deep spool and want to put line on but not a full spool that they will never use do use an arbor if they have one. Another thing you can do is fill the spool up part way with a heavy masons twine. Filling a deep spool gives you a lot of small tight curls if you ever had to let it all out.I have a few spools with arbors on, I wish I had more. Hope that answers your question? I like them on the deep spools for 300 and 400 series reels.
The kind of fishing I use the reels for, which is primarily trout fishing, does not require 200 yards of line or more.
If I'm using 6-8 pound line I like to stay around 100-120 yards
of line on the spools. Living in the states, for some reason people have always thought they needed a huge amount of line, but I've personally never felt a need for 300 yards of line on a trout reel,
but there are definitely certain kinds of fishing where a person would want the extra line.

Because I've always looked at it like this, right or wrong, I have acquired a ridiculous number of small capacity Mitchell reels over the years, so this eliminates the need for an arbor.
The other thing I like about the factory arbors is that they look kinda cool on certain display reels because of the colors lol :sHa_biggrin:
