Hi Sandman,

I'm happy to narrow down the list of the missing Garcia Mitchell Script Boxes a little more. Here's a recent addition - AND IT"S A ROUND BODY!!!!! :clap :clap :clap .

Here's a numbers matching GM 305. The box is a little rough (We'll, OK it's pretty rough :sSa_sadeyes: ) but it's original and matching!

The reel is in very nice used condition and unfortunately a previous owner engraved the top of the reel seat with his/her name and SSN but didn't obscure the Ser #. I knew that before I purchased it but how many of these numbers matching reel/boxes are out there - this is the first one I've ever seen! The reel still has the original grease in it!

A great addition to the "Round Body collection and narrows the field of "missing" members to my collection.

I'm still looking for the 314 and 315 GM Mitchells in the script boxes as I've never seen those either :tup.

On a side note Sandman, that Red GM Script 308X Box you showed from the "Big Site"...... I know where it is :sHa_okay:.

Best Regards,
Chris

Great find Chris!! I've only seen that box one other time and don't remember whether the reel was nice or not. Very difficult to find the whole package...Reminds of the 307, shouldn't be that hard to find, but they are....That reel is quite nice...always an extra nice surprise to find the original amber grease.

Thanks for adding to this thread. Here is an update as to where we are in this thread:

Hi Sandman,

I did!!! :sFun_bananacolors:

The box is in very nice condition as is the reel. I just couldn't resist this one as they don't appear too often.

It still has the cardboard insert in the cover and as we have discussed previously, no Ser# sticker on the bottom of the box.

I didn't pay the sellers asking price but I sure wish it had been the $23.98 written on the box...….It wasn't :sSa_sadeyes: .
My Black Box 308X Box needed company - now they're a set.

Kind Regards,
Chris

Now I wish I did...

Just magnificent...I enjoy that set like fine artwork...

Not likely to find another...

SN 168798? about the middle of 1962...

I know envy is a sin, but....

Congratulations!

Hello Sandman,

Sandman is the list of reels, you have done for the reel you are looking for as I have a 307 script and a 303 script, let me know if you would like pictures of them.

Regards James.

Hi James, yes, this topic is to capture all Mitchell script box reels. We are missing the 307 and 303 (and a few others) so that would be great if you could photos of those reels and boxes.
