Someone gave me a Taiwan made Mitchell 310. He thought the bail arm may be worn (trip lever not locking in the bail arm), as did I until I took the head off. With the head off the trip lever locks in the bail arm as it should.
Another problem I see is. Turning the reel in a retrieving motion fast it works smooth, slow it wants to lock up. I checked the gears and they seem fine. I also took the pinion gear out of the head, it appears their may be a ball bearing missing (but not really sure at this point) I didn't take the assembly apart.
Any ideas for these fixes?
