Do you still have the article on Cosmetic Changes.
What was the year 300 was added to case?
I am interested on markings on the 300's, any changes and what year they were done.
Any other changes like handle, spools, and anti reverse butterfly to single lever.
This helps spot any alteration on Reels.
Any information will be helpful.
Thank You.

Schrack,
It sounds like you have developed a real interest in the Mitchell 300 reels. In my opinion, it's time for you to consider buying the book" The Mitchell Classic 300 Spinning Reel: 1939-1989" written by Wallace. It can answer most of questions about changes to the reel and when they were made. Ebay has a seller that has a couple of them, and there's an outfit named Whitefish Press that may have some. They have a cost of around $50, but they are well worth it.

The "300" was added to the cover plate around 1955.

Regards,
Ted Lanham

Made enough to buy a Mitchell 300 and rod.
Used it till 63, when I went in Air Force my parents gave it away. Bought another.
Love the early ones 54,55.
