I agree Ted! My (fishing buddy) daughter, is saying "what am I going to do with all this fishing gear". I tell her do what I do, find a young angler into fishing, and give them a rig. Or sell it on ebay.

Am looking to help someone with a Mitchell 300. A member posted (on the old MRM) this is an article "I put up on a members-only UK forum". Are you a member here now? If so could you repost it?

Well this is the 408 I'll be keeping for myself and fishing. The reel is smooth as butter! I just wish I could have the lettering come out better, but such is life.

I have about a dozen 308 - 204's, (1) 408, (2) 300's (2) 304's, (1) 330, (1) 406. All are user reels I switch spools on the UL reels and use them all. I use the 406 for saltwater. I build my own rods to the reels so I prefer to use them. Now I say about a dozen UL reels because I give 1-2, reels &am...

Last of the clear coating is done. I'm 99.9% satisfied, one tiny spot on the foot the paint came off due to being tacky. Now to clean up the internal parts, and put it back together in a few days. Funny how glare effects a photo, makes them look like flaws. I'm also going to build a rod just for thi...

I have seen the same method used here, for trout using corn. Corn has been a debate for years, weather it binds the trout eating to much corn. I believe it does. Besides it's much more fun catching them on artificial baits. Here's a few of my favorites, I could never get roster tails to spin very go...

I had a hard time adding pictures, when I first started. I take my photos with my phone and were always oversized (horizonal 1500 pixels). I am not real computer savvy guy!! So this is what I do. I send the pictures to my computer via email. I save them in a folder. I run windows 10 on the computer....

Not being a collector. My thoughts would be, someone may need it for their collection. Sell it at a fair price, and get something you will use. I was looking for a 600 series. But wouldn't want to use a new in box, for that reason.

I only tell you this because the reel get heavy after awhile, so I do fish another brand to give my arms a break. Any how while fishing 3 ...

I was cleaning up my pictures, on the computer and came across this one. I fished the reel one time, and put it a side for #1 grandson. When I showed it on another site, someone said don't lose it in the grass. LOL looking at the picture if the handle was on the ground, it could be hard to find.

Just hope I'm not to excited about the stripper.

Mitchell 408
So I received a Mitchell 408 this week. I like paint on my user reels, so I'll be painting this one. I know the paint I want to use, doesn't match the original color. But I think this color will represent the reel well. I will fish it first till fall.
So what do you think?

I have found after a few saves. That Max 2K Glamour clear coat is a superior clear coat. Though it is expensive, It hardens the best I have used! I have fished a reel I used it on for 3 years, I have laid it on a wall (many many times, and dropping it a few) with NO chipping.
